Study Abroad Cost Calculator
First-year study-abroad cost in PKR, plus a funds checker: does your bank balance meet Germany, UK, Canada, Australia or New Zealand requirements?
✓ Rates verified: October 2026
General information only — not visa or immigration advice. Proof-of-funds figures below are the official requirements verified in October 2026, and every figure is editable because embassies change them. Always verify current fees and requirements with your university and embassy before paying anything to anyone. Never trust an agent quote over an official source.
1. First-year cost calculator (all amounts in PKR)
Enter each cost in Pakistani rupees. If a fee is quoted in dollars, euros or pounds, convert it first with the Currency Converter, then type the PKR figure here.
Enter at least one cost above to see your first-year total.
2. Funds checker — does your bank balance meet the requirement?
Pick a country to load its official proof-of-funds figure. The requirement field is editable — if the embassy has changed it, type the new figure. Your balance must be entered in the SAME currency as the requirement (convert PKR first with the Currency Converter).
Blocked account — €11,904 per year (€992 per month). DAAD states €992 per month at your disposal (as of 1 January 2025). Most public universities charge no tuition, only a semester contribution — that contribution is separate from this figure.

Enter your bank balance above to check it against the requirement.

About this calculator
The first question every study-abroad applicant asks is also the hardest to answer honestly: how much will the first year actually cost, and do I have enough in the bank to prove it? This tool answers both in two sections. The cost calculator adds up tuition per year, living per month, visa fee, flight, insurance and anything else — all in PKR — into a first-year total and a monthly equivalent.
The funds checker is the part most calculators skip. Every major destination demands proof of funds, and every one counts it differently: Germany wants a blocked account of €11,904 a year, the UK wants 9 months of living money (£13,761 in London, £10,539 outside it) plus unpaid course fees, Canada wants a CA$22,895 living threshold plus tuition, Australia wants A$29,710 for 12 months plus tuition and travel, and New Zealand wants NZ$20,000 a year plus tuition. Pick a country, and the tool loads its official figure — then enter your bank balance in the same currency to see whether you meet it or how far short you fall.
Two honest limits. First, the proof figures are official requirements verified in October 2026, and every figure in the tool is editable because embassies change them — always re-check with the university and embassy before paying anything to anyone. Second, the checker tests only the money figure: embassies also check how long the money has been held, where it came from, and your other documents, so meeting the number is necessary but not sufficient.
Countries are included only where the requirement could be verified from an official source (DAAD, GOV.UK, IRCC, the Australian Department of Home Affairs, Immigration New Zealand). The USA is deliberately left out: it has no single federal funds figure — each university sets its own I-20 amount — so any single USA number here would be invented.
How to use
- In section 1, enter each first-year cost in PKR (convert foreign-currency fees with the Currency Converter first).
- Read your first-year total and the monthly equivalent.
- In section 2, pick your country to load its official proof-of-funds figure (edit it if the embassy has changed it).
- Enter any unpaid first-year tuition and your bank balance in the same currency as the requirement.
- Read whether you meet the requirement or the shortfall, then copy or share the result on WhatsApp.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my bank balance entered in euros or pounds instead of rupees?
Embassies count the requirement in their own currency. Convert your PKR balance with the Currency Converter first, then enter that figure here — the tool deliberately does not guess an exchange rate for you.
Does meeting the funds figure guarantee a visa?
No. It checks the money figure only. Embassies also check how long funds have been held, their source, your admission, English, and other documents. Meeting the number is necessary, not sufficient.
Why is the USA not in the country list?
The USA has no single federal proof-of-funds figure — each university sets its own I-20 amount. Listing one USA number would be invented, so the USA is left out until a verifiable standard figure exists.
Why is Northern Cyprus not listed?
No official, verifiable proof-of-funds figure for Northern Cyprus student residence could be confirmed from an official source, so it is omitted rather than estimated from agent quotes.
Are the proof figures current?
They were verified from official sources in October 2026 and every figure is editable. Embassies change requirements regularly — always confirm with the university and embassy before applying.
Is this visa or immigration advice?
No. It is general information and arithmetic only. For your own application, verify with the university and embassy, and consider a licensed adviser for complex cases.
