Tile & Paint Estimator
Tiles for floor, paint gallons for walls.
About this calculator
Ordering too few tiles stalls a project; ordering too many wastes money. This estimator takes your floor area and tile size and calculates how many tiles (or boxes) you need, adding a standard wastage allowance for cutting and breakage — the part most people forget when buying from the market.
For paint, it converts wall area into gallons based on real coverage rates, accounting for the two coats most Pakistani painters apply plus primer. Whether you are finishing a new house or repainting a single room, the estimate means one market trip instead of three.
How to use
- Enter the floor area in square feet for tiles.
- Choose your tile size (e.g. 24×24 inches) to get the box count.
- Enter wall area for paint, including doors and windows roughly.
- See tile boxes with wastage and paint gallons for two coats.
Frequently asked questions
How much wastage should I add for tiles?
Add 10% extra for straight layouts and up to 15% for diagonal patterns or rooms with many corners. The calculator includes a wastage allowance automatically.
How much area does one gallon of paint cover?
Roughly 400–450 sq ft per coat on smooth walls. Since two coats are standard, double the wall area before dividing by coverage.
Should I subtract doors and windows from wall area?
For a quick estimate it is fine to keep them in — the extra paint covers frames, trims and touch-ups. For large halls, subtracting them gives a tighter figure.
